Last week 5 members of the Proud Boys attended what appeared to be an anti-Canada protest on Canada Day to have a conversation and as a result they all lost their jobs in the Canadian military – yeah it turns out Canada does have a military and apparently love of country is forbidden if you are a member.
The video of this ideological clash has made the rounds on the web and has been a focal point of Canadian news for a few days. While my fellow Proud Boys are being made out to be monsters, it was one of the politest exchanges of ideas I’ve seen in politics in a while. Their voices stayed calm and low, they asked some interesting questions, made a few points about their beloved General Cornwallis, and left when they were asked to leave. No violence. No physical altercations. The only true hostility came from a butch looking, aggressive woman, with very triggering war paint on her face who started using profanity and entering one of the PBs personal space, to which he politely turned his back to de-escalate the situation (that happens in the background around 1:29). That same woman was holding an upside down, vandalized Canadian flag which really helps illustrate how this was DEFINITELY some type of sacred indigenous people ceremony and not a political event at all.
These PBs might as well just showed up and started beating everyone with a bat though because if you have conservative ideas the media will hold you with that level of disdain anyway. For this conversation, these men are probably going to be fired and will face trial for hate crimes.
Tucker Carlson takes on the left for advocating violence towards their political enemies #tuckerporn
Tucker Carlson, fresh out of the hospital, took to his show on Monday night to take the left to task on their surge of violent rhetoric.
First there was the infamous #huntrepublicans tweet by a Democratic Strategist.
The interview didn’t really go anywhere because the author of the tweet chose to ignore the text that he wrote and pretend like it was “metaphorical” language like when a pro-Sarah Palin organization put gun targets over Democratic congressional districts. You know, because they wanted to "target" those districts politically.
However, in the wake of an assassination attempt, writing “We are in a war with selfish, foolish & narcissistic rich people. Why is it a shock when things turn violent? #HuntRepublicanCongressmen” is anything but metaphorical. It justifies violence against “selfish, foolish & narcissistic rich people” and then gives a directive to hunt them. ANY other reading of that is a stretch (and by "stretch" I mean a lie).
